Au SAE J1708/J1587 Interpreter, a palm-size hand-held device with J1708/J1587 bus Interface and RS232 Interface, is capable of interpret the most popular SAE J1708/J1587 signals to a RS232 ASCII String (similar to AT command string). It can be connected to J1708/J1587 network and +12V power supply at the 9 pin “BUS” connector.

• RS232 Communication failure rate: < 0.05% (typical)
• Compact size: 3" L X 1-5/8"W X 3/4”H
• Enclosure color: Black or PC white
• Operating temperature: -40 ˚F to 185 ˚F (-40 ˚C to 85 ˚C)
• 2 LED indicators: Power LED: for power indicator; Comm LED: for communication event indication
• 1 push button: Not used in normal operation, used for bootloading only (for in-field firmware updates)
• 1 DB9 Male "BUS" Interface
• 1 RS232 Interface (default baud rate: 115.2K bps): It is used to output the received J1708/J1587 signal in an ASCII String format (similar to AT Command String). It can also be used for in-field firmware update, license management, etc. Au J1708/J1587 Interpreter can be connected to RS232 (serial) port of a PC either through a RS232 serial extension cable (Part#: CBL-RS232-01, order separately) or through a USB to RS232 serial Adapter (Part #: ADP-USB-232) with USB extension cable.
